WAYNESBORO, MS (WDAM) -

The Wayne County Sheriff's Department seized a large quantity of narcotics on Holly Bush Church Road.

After receiving information from a confidential informant, the department had a search warrant issued and signed July 25.

Investigators said they made entry into a trailer home where they recovered numerous amounts of firearms, 52.7 grams of cocaine, 2.8 grams of ecstasy, approximately 4lbs. of spice (synthetic marijuana) and 22.7 grams of methamphetamine.

"It shows that we're doing work and trying to make a difference in the community and clean the drugs up and get them off the street," said Investigator Shane McIlwain.

McIlwain said the department also seized $825. He said the narcotics recovered represent a street value of approximately $12,000.

According to the department, one person was at the residence when investigators made entry. McIlwain said the male was taken into custody where his bond was set at $500,000. The man has since made bond.
