E. Texas man says girlfriend's death suicide, autopsy findings say no

HENDERSON COUNTY, TX (KLTV) -

 A man has been arrested in connection with the death of a 47-year-old Henderson County woman.

According to Henderson County Sheriff Ray Nutt, his department responded to a death investigation on August 2 in the pre-dawn hours. Clyde Jason Tennison of Payne Springs reported finding Deborah Denise Allen dead inside his home on Porthill Drive. Deputies say that Tennison suggested to them that Allen's death may have been suicide.

During the investigation, however, evidence the sheriff's deputies collected suggested that the death was not a suicide. They returned with search warrants and searched the residence and Tennison's vehicle on Saturday. Judge Tommy Barnett ordered that Deborah Allen's body be sent for an autopsy.

Preliminary autopsy findings revealed that Allen had blunt force trauma, lacerations and stab wounds to her facial and neck areas that were inconsistent with suicide. An arrest warrant was granted and Tennison was arrested and transported to the Henderson County Detention Center. He was charged with murder and a $1,000,000 bond has been set.

Tennison remains in custody Monday morning, and the investigation is ongoing.

    Fans were waiting in the parking lot Wednesday outside Hattiesburg High School for tickets to go on sale for the 5A South State Championship Friday night. The Tigers are hosting the Laurel Tornadoes in a I-59 showdown.  The game, a repeat of the "Lil' Brown Jug" game will give the Tornadoes the chance at revenge, after Hattiesburg won the rivalry game 20-14 in August.
