Lamar County hosts Back to School Rally

LAMAR COUNTY, MS (WDAM) - The Lamar County back to school rally for staff and teachers began Friday morning with their mission statement projected on the wall for everyone to remember.

It states that the Lamar county school district is to provide quality education in a safe and healthy learning environment with the opportunity for all students to experience success.

Together superintendent tests smith and public speaker Janie Walters had the large crowd on their feet in excitement for this upcoming school year. They discussed the importance of accepting change and embracing laughter.

Two students were selected by their principles to represent their school in the district. Each student introduced their new teacher and gave them  an apple to wish them good luck for the new year.

With only a week of summer left. Superintendent Tess Smith believes that the only way to start the new school year is together as a team.
