A Gulfport woman has been charged with uttering forgery after she allegedly deposited more than $16,000 worth of fraudulent money orders at Coastal Credit Union. Biloxi Police Department Investigator Steve Schlicht said Cynthia Ann Brosh, 57, turned herself in to authorities Wednesday afternoon.

Schlicht said investigators discovered Brosh had deposited 18 fraudulent money orders in a six day period totaling more than $16,000. Officials said Brosh withdrew the cash before the money orders were identified as fake.

Judge Bruce Strong issued an arrest warrant for Brosh last Thursday and bond was set at $25,000. Officials said Brosh turned herself in to Biloxi police shortly after 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

According to the Harrison County jail docket, Brosh bonded out of jail on Wednesday.

Schlicht said the investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-877-787-5898 or Biloxi police at 228-392-0641.
