LAUREL, MS (WDAM) - A man charged with capital murder for allegedly killing a Laurel woman had his arraignment Tuesday.
William Dean pled not guilty for the death of 85-year-old Nora Peters after he was read his charges in court. Dean was charged with capital murder in March after Peters was found dead inside her trailer home located in the Twin Pines Trailer Park.
"He will be appointed a local council and the capital defense league that represents people charged with the death penalty in Jackson will also be appointed and then a date will be set for his trial," said Jones County District Attorney Tony Buckley.
Buckley said the state intends to seek the death penalty in this case.
