Cat left in car at Worlds of Fun may not survive

KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -

A Worlds of Fun security guard rescued a cat from a hot car in the park's parking lot this afternoon, but his efforts might not be enough.

The cat has been turned over to Kansas City Animal Control, but workers say the cat is "in pretty bad shape," and may not survive.

Worlds of Fun said someone had left the cat inside, suffering in the heat.

Park officials confirm when the owners returned to their car, they were ticketed.
