Alleged Jones Co. burglar drops wallet at crime scene

Jones County sheriff's deputies were dispatched to the 4700 block of Highway 15 North Wednesday, in reference to a commercial burglary at the Shady Grove Feed and Seed.

Investigator Sgt. Scott Gable arrived on scene and as he began his investigation he noticed a wallet lying on the ground near the store's point of entry. The wallet belonged to Christopher Brent Anderson, a former employee of the business.  Anderson was ultimately taken into custody and charged with commercial burglary.

Sgt. Gable said, "We all like this kind of case when the suspect leaves his calling card at the place where the crime took place.  It makes our job very easy."  All items taken in this burglary have been recovered and returned to the owner.

Bond for Anderson was set by Justice Court Judge Billie Graham at $5000 and the Mississippi Department of Corrections placed a hold on him for a previous charge in another county.
