Interim agency taking over PACE Head Start in Forrest County

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - An interim agency will take over operations of the Forrest County PACE Head Start Program.

Board of Directors Chairman Willie Sims said in a press release that these changes will take place immediately and "We anticipate no interruption in services to the children, staff and community."

According to sources, the program will be prohibited from expending federal funds for 30 days, beginning 6pm Thursday. A national group, Community Development Institute (CDI), is contracting with Head Start to run the program in the interim.

The institute will also interview staff and parents on the best ways to run the program.
