GIGLIO, ITALY (Italian Coast Guard/CNN) - The Costa Concordia began its final voyage Wednesday.

Salvage crews refloated the wrecked ship last week so it could be moved to Genoa where it will be dismantled.

The huge steel boxes that are attached to the sides of the ship were pumped full of compressed air to give it buoyancy.

Thirty-two people were killed when the cruise ship ran aground in 2012 off Giglio Island with 4,200 passengers on board.
