Bwk Co. man's bond increased to $7 million after more charges added

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WECT) -

The bond has increased to more than $7 million for a Brunswick County man who was arrested and charged for his alleged involvement in three separate charges of sexual assault on a female.

Brunswick County Sheriff's Deputies with assistance from the Leland Police Department arrested Leland resident Denzel Jamal Hill Saturday.

An arrest warrant shows Hill was initially charged with two counts of statutory rape for allegedly having sex with a 15 year old female.

Since his arrest, Hill has been charged with additional counts of the following:

  • 34 counts of statutory rape/sex offenses
  • 17 counts of indecent liberties with a child
  • 2 counts of assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury
  • 4 counts of assault by strangulation
  • 10 counts of assault inflicting serious bodily injury
  • 3 counts of second degree kidnapping
  • 3 counts of first degree sexual offense
  • 1 count of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill

Hill's bond was raised to $7,010,000 after appearing in court Thursday for these additional charges. Hill's next court date will be Friday, August 8.

During the investigation, detectives learned of other unknown, potential victims and found witnesses to some of the crimes he has been charged for. 

Brunswick County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigations Unit is requesting your help to identify and locate other potential victims and/or witnesses involving Hill. All information provided will be kept confidential as part of this ongoing criminal investigation.
