Motorist killed in one-vehicle accident in Covington County

A single-car accident on Highway 49 in Covington County killed one motorist Saturday. A single-car accident on Highway 49 in Covington County killed one motorist Saturday.
SEMINARY, MS (WDAM) -

One person was killed in a Saturday afternoon accident on Highway 49 in Covington County. Trenton Bass, 18, of Florida was pronounced dead at the scene of the single-vehicle wreck. 

The wreck happened shortly before 2 p.m. on the southbound side of the highway south of Seminary. According to Mississippi Highway Patrol officers the vehicle left the roadway, overturned and ejected Bass who was a passenger with no seatbelt. Three other individuals in the vehicle were transported from the scene by ambulance to Forrest General Hospital.

    Following a school-record 55 wins and run that ended in an 8-7 loss in the NJCAA national championship, Jones County Junior College softball is eager to open the 2018 season on February 3. Coming that close to the school’s first national title serves as motivation enough for the Lady Bobcats. Regardless, expectations are always high for coach Chris Robinson’s teams – JCJC is a combined 105-12 the last two seasons.
