FORREST COUNTY, MS (WDAM) - The state auditor's office and the FBI now have more documents to investigate from the Forrest County jail after a visit to the chancery court on Thursday.
Officials from both agencies were back in the county requesting county audits, jail food invoices, and jail numbers among other things.
Their first trip in June lasted several days. This time the investigators were looking for documents dated before 2007, which caused for more work to be done considering some of those documents are not electronically archived.
Sources confirm that this is an ongoing investigation into county jail expenditures.
