Southern Miss breaks ground for new nursing school

The University of Southern Mississippi just began the ground breaking process for its new nursing school. Dr. Katherine Nugent, Dean of the College of Nursing, says she's excited about what the future has in store for the nursing program and the new building.

"It is a feeling of pride," Nugent said.

"And I can tell you that feeling of pride comes from the faculty-- they are the ones that are committed and dedicated to teaching, to changing. They're responsive to changing our workforce and providing the quality education that keeps us accredited and with such good outcomes."

The new nursing school is set for completion in about two years, and it is located near the Theatre and Dance Building.
