JACKSON, MS (WLOX) -

Bourbon Street shooting suspect Trung Le left Gulfport and headed back to Louisiana around 9am Saturday morning. That's after Mississippi Lieutenant Governor Tate Reeves signed extradition papers.

Le, 20, faces one count of first degree murder and nine counts of attempted first degree murder in connection with the June 29 shooting. Brittany Thomas, 21, of Hammond, died amid the exchange of gunfire. Police are still searching for a second suspect, but believe Le fired the first shot.

Days after the shooting, on July 4, Le was arrested at a home in Gulfport. When he refused to sign an extradition waiver, Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal stepped in, signing a warrant to bring Le back to Louisiana.

Reeves, who is currently serving as Acting Governor in the absence of Phil Bryant, signed the rendition warrant Saturday morning.

"The sooner the warrant can be executed the sooner Louisiana law enforcement can work toward justice in this horrible incident," Mississippi Lt. Gov. Tate Reeves said in a statement Saturday.
