3-vehicle injury accident closes US-6 in Sandusky County

SANDUSKY COUNTY, OH (Toledo News Now) -

Ohio State Highway Patrol is on the scene of an accident on US Route 6 just west of Helena in Sandusky County.

Route 6 is closed in both directions with traffic being detoured.

An emergency dispatcher says three vehicles were involved in the wreck: two commercial vehicles and a passenger vehicle.  We are told one of the commercial vehicles partially tipped over onto the passenger vehicle.

The female driver of that car was flown to a hospital in Toledo.  No word on her condition.

There is currently no estimated time for when Route 6 will be reopened.

Engineers said portions of Main Street by Mt. Carmel Baptist in Hattiesburg are set to reopen Wednesday. The area has been closed since July after building B of the church was deemed unsafe. Demolition, which cost approximately $334,000, is almost finished, allowing the roads to reopen once the area is cleared.  Portions of 5th Avenue by the church are set to be open sometime next week.  This is a developing story.
