(CNN) - On Thursday, the Republican Governors Association will announce $60 million has been raised since New Jersey Governor Chris Christie was elected chairman.

Christie was elected last November.

So it would appear the bridge controversy Christie’s been dealing with this year hasn't affected his standing with the RGA.

The association will also report it has more than $70 million cash on hand, that's the most money in the bank it's ever had in its history.

It will also announce it raised $26.6 million in the past three months, an all-time second quarter record for the group.

Christie's chairmanship of the RGA was seen as a possible stepping stone to a potential 2016 bid for the GOP presidential nomination.
