Bailey Maloney

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

Bailey Maloney is a New Orleans Native and a graduate of Chapman University, where she earned her BFA in Television Broadcast Journalism. She graduated Magna Cum Laude in less than four years and received the Albert Schweitzer Spirit of Service award for creating awareness in the community through Chapman News.

While in college she worked for the NFL Network as a production assistant in both Los Angeles, CA and London, UK. Bailey also had the opportunity to work with NFL Films International in her hometown for Super Bowl XLVII and for NFL games at Wembley Stadium. Soon after moving back to California she fell in love with news reporting after interning at KTLA, Los Angeles.

She has always had a love of travel and exploration, which brought her to make educational documentaries in 13 countries for Semester at Sea. She hopes to never let her age exceed the amount of countries she has visited. With 33 countries already under her belt, Bailey says she will be staying put in Hattiesburg for a while.

She loves a challenge and is always eager to find answers to unanswered questions.

    Firefighters are on the scene of a mobile home fire in Laurel. According to Lance Chancellor with the Powers Fire Department, the blaze sparked in the 150th block of Jordan Drive just before five, Monday morning. Officials ask you to avoid the area until the fire is under control. Chancellor said five different stations responded to fight the fire.
