TORONTO, July 3, 2014 /CNW/ - Can-Ice is pleased to announce their
participation in Hockey Canada's 100th Anniversary Tour. This exciting tour will visit multiple cities across
Canada, the Calgary Stampede is the next stop, with activations and
demonstrations performed exclusively on Can-Ice rinks. Can-Ice is also
thrilled to unveil their new website and online store, live now at www.can-ice.com
Endorsed by Hockey Canada, Can-Ice is the brainchild of two perfectly
suited talents for this venture: Hockey Canada alumnus and NHL 50-goal
scorer, Danny Gare and his business partner Mike McGraw. Danny brings a
personal understanding of what it takes for an athlete - of any level -
to be their best. Danny, a veteran of 13 NHL seasons, and a former
captain, understands what it takes for athletes to succeed. And, with
over 35 years of experience in the North American sports surfacing
industry, Mike brings technical expertise to Can-Ice.
"Can-Ice is proud to provide a product that shares Hockey Canada's
dedication to the development of skills in young hockey enthusiasts. I
remember shooting 500 pucks a day off a waxed piece of plywood at home
in Nelson as a boy, trying to develop skills," comments Gare. "With
Can-Ice, we've come a long way in providing a durable, long-lasting
surface for the next generation to practice on."
Gare's dedication to skills development is a lifelong passion. This
passion was passed on to him by his father, Ernie, who was a pioneer of
hockey skills development and drills. Ernie believed young people are
our most important resource, and he dedicated his life to teaching
The revamped website features product information, demonstration videos
for skills and training tips, and offers the opportunity for consumers
to easily purchase their own Can-Ice system directly from the site.
One-stop shopping to keep kids on the ice all year round, keeping them
active and sharpening their skills between seasons.
Can-Ice and Hockey Canada share the common goal of using the surface to
benefit and grow the game of hockey in Canada. Can-Ice provides easy,
year round access for kids to develop skills, have fun and get better
at the game!
Our mission is to make it easy and fun to skate at will…the ice is
