Keg and Barrel takes advantage of World Cup festivities

The Keg and Barrel was once again packed with dedicated soccer fans Tuesday as the United States took on Belgium in the round of 16 at the FIFA World Cup in Brazil.

The bar and grill was filled even before the game started and remained full until the end despite the U.S. losing 2-1 in extra time. The Keg and Barrel for the last few weeks had seemingly become the unofficial headquarters to see all the World Cup action.

Even with the loss, fans remained optimistic about the future of American soccer, which survived the "Group of Death" that included two of the top four ranked countries in Germany and Portugal. The group also included Ghana, who had eliminated the United States in the previous two World Cups. Many see the United States' advancement to the round of 16 as a victory in itself, considering many didn't give the team much of a chance to make it this far.
