Family displaced after fire at East Nashville apartment

NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

A family has been displaced after a fire at an East Nashville apartment complex on Monday night.

Officials say the blaze happened at Riverchase Apartments at 406 N. Second St. around 7:30 p.m.

The fire was contained to one unit. Two of the upstairs rooms had heavy fire and smoke damage, and the downstairs has water damage.

Officials say everyone was able to get out safely.

The Red Cross has been called out to assist the family.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.

    After losing the first two games of the season by a combined five points, Collins has won 12 consecutive games to advance to the class 2A South State title. The Tigers (12-2) defeated Bay Springs 22-8 on Friday to advance to a south state matchup against Taylorsville (13-1). Collins scored twice in the fourth quarter to overcome the Bulldogs on the road. "I feel great," said Collins head coach Eric Booth, a former USM running back.
