GEORGE COUNTY, MS (WLOX) -

A missing George County man, who was the subject of a Silver Alert from the Highway Patrol Monday night, has been found safe.

Connie Johnston, 74, went missing from his home in the Central community near Lucedale around 1:30pm. By 5:30pm, the Mississippi Highway Patrol issued a Silver Alert for Johnston.

Family members were especially worried because Johnston has several medical conditions requiring medications, requires breathing treatments, and has had a stroke.

By 7:30pm, the Highway Patrol had called off the Silver Alert saying Mr. Johnston had been found safe. Thank you to everyone who shared this story, and potentially helped find this missing man.
