Roads open after train derailment

Twisted metal and toppledrail cars are out of the way and traffic is back to normal in the city of Lumbertonafter a Wednesday train derailment.

One person was transported from the scenewith non-life threatening injuries in the 10 car derailment that occurredaround 4 a.m. Wednesday.

LUMBERTON, MS (WDAM) - According to Lamar County EmergencyManagement Director James Smith, rail cars have been moved to the side of thetracks, and the main line and side line have been repaired and are back openfor rail traffic.

Officials also stated that Industrial ParkwayRoad is now open and the rail crew will begin removing damaged rail cars fromthe area as soon as possible.
