JACKSON, MS (WDAM) - After winning the GOP Republican primary runoff, Cochran thanked his supporters from his campaign party in Rankin County.
Cochran addressed the crowd, claiming that the victory was not his, but the public's.
Cochran maintained the lead in the runoff a majority of the night with 51 percent of the vote. McDaniel fell short by 6,395 votes.
Cochran will face Travis Childers in the general election in November.
