COVINGTON COUNTY, MS (WDAM) -

A million dollar bond was set Monday for a thirty-one year old woman in Covington County.

Jeniffer Griffin was charged with murdering her husband over the weekend. Authorities said they received a call around seven-twenty Saturday morning.

Investigators said on arrival they found the body of a deceased male behind the residence. According to officials had been shot and partially burned and later identified as thirty-eight year old Chester griffin.

"Well it's a sad situation involving a lot of children, not only have they lost a dad, they've also lost a mother, it's just a sad situation," said Layne McLaurin.

The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation assisted the Covington County Sheriff's Department in processing the crime scene.
