POPLARVILLE, MS (WDAM) - Pearl River Community College has been ranked as one of the top schools in the country for its efforts in preparing students to attend a four-year institution.
A CNN Money report ranks PRCC as 17th best in the nation, with 68 percent of its students transferring to a four-year college or university.
The school was tied with Rend Lake College in Illinois and Ellsworth Community College in Iowa.
"I think what this indicates is that our students who come to Pearl River Community College can expect to get the kind of help and assistance that they need, the encouragement they need to complete their goals here at the community college level and then move on to their completion of the baccalaureate preparation," said Dr. William Lewis, president of Pearl River Community College.
PRCC ranked 20th in the same report last year.
