Crime stoppers Mississippi highway patrol accident investigation

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

The Mississippi Highway Patrol responded to a hit and run accident on U.S. Hwy 49 just South of Pocahontas on December 21, 2013. The accident appeared to involve a pedestrian, that was identified as Maury Michelle Flint. Flint's body was discovered lying in the median near the Cock of The Walk Restaurant.

The vehicle involved did not stay on scene and there were no apparent witnesses. The victim, Maury Michelle Flint was last known to have been at a residence nearby in Pocahontas shortly before midnight on Friday, December 20.The accident is believed to have occurred sometime in the early morning hours of Saturday Dec 21, before being discovered and reported at approximately 7a.m. on the morning of Saturday Dec 21.

The family of the victim, as well as the MS Highway Patrol, and CMCS is asking for the public's help in an attempt to identify the vehicle and driver involved in this incident.

A reward from Crime Stoppers of up to $2500.00 could be paid for information leading to an arrest(s).

A separate reward of $24,000.00 is being offered by the family of the victim for the arrest and conviction of the person responsible.

    Hattiesburg police responded to a shooting at a Hub City apartment complex.  According to Lt.
