ELLISVILLE –This summer, General Electric Aviation has hired five local college students from Jones County Junior College and the University of Southern Mississippi on May 19th for a 12-week paid internship. The interns are expected to complete various projects for the corporation until the beginning of August.

GE Aviation of Ellisville opened as a new facility back in 2011.
"This internship will greatly broaden my engineering horizons. I am very humbled to work with the company as large as GE and to be one of five college interns is amazing!" said Elizabeth Wright, a JCJC student intern. "I really enjoy the people here the most, They all have such passion and joy for what they do,a and it makes for a great work environment."
"It's all about learning. We hope they have a robust experience working together with our employees. The GE philosophy is to hire from within and this could be the first opportunity to grow with the company." said Rebecca Bechtold.
The interns will be positioned to apply for the corporate internships next summer allowing each of them another chance to learn the operations and management side of the company and prepare for full time job prospects.
Over the course of the summer, the five interns will pave new ground in academics and experience in the field.
