Smyrna teen accused of killing uncle

NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

Metro police charged a 17-year-old from Smyrna with the murder of his uncle early Saturday.

According to a news release, police arrested Cody Hargus Friday night at his home on Lakewood Circle.

He's charged with the shooting death of his uncle, Amkha Vetvong.

Vetvong was killed Thursday at his West Nashville home.

Police and firefighters found his body after receiving a 911 call from relatives.

Investigators believe Vetvong was killed during a burglary attempt.
