The Hub City Dragway is gearing up for a nice turnout at tonight's street racing event.
"Tons of people come. We probably had 60 cars last time. 400 spectators. We do it every two to three weeks and every event so far, we've picked up spectators, picked up racers and everybody comes out here and enjoys themselves," event organizer Scott Taylor said.
Taylor spoke about how his passion for the sport led him to getting involved.
"There's a lot of guys that like to race on the street and my whole idea was try to bring it to a lot safer place and we try to recreate the street atmosphere."
"It's just like racing on the street, but we've got guard rails, we've got EMT's. It's just a lot safer deal. You can't get in trouble for racing here."
Gates open at 6 p.m. and racing is expected to start at 7 p.m.
Test and tune (TNT) racing will last until 10 p.m., with no-prep street racing running from ten to midnight.
