SHELBY COUNTY, TN -

(WMC) - The man Shelby County sheriff's deputies were looking for before Monday's shootout and standoff on Maple Drive at Jackson Avenue was arrested.

Willie Adair, 23, was booked into the Shelby County Jail just before 8 p.m. on Wednesday. He is charged with speeding, reckless driving, evading arrest in an automobile, and several other driving-related charges.

On Monday, investigators were searching for Adair on an outstanding warrant for his arrest on the driving charges. Deputies say they tracked his cell phone to his girlfriend's house, 872 Maple.

When deputies arrived, they say Rodenick Winston, 24, shot at them multiple times before barricading himself in the house for more than an hour. Winston came out peacefully. He is locked up in the Shelby County jail on $750,000, charged with attempted murder for allegedly shooting at deputies.

After the shootout and standoff, deputies searched the house and found 98 syringes, 423 rounds of ammunition, four cell phones, and four guns, including two rifles that had been stolen in a February shoplifting at Walmart on Germantown Parkway.

According to an affidavit of complaint associated with Adair's arrest, Memphis police pulled over Adair's car at Trezevant Street and Sandpiper Avenue, less than a mile from where they originally tried to pull him over after noticing a broken tail light on the car.

Police say they approached Adair's car and made contact with him, but he soon put the car in gear and sped away. He managed to evade capture after a brief pursuit through residential neighborhoods.

Adair's bond has not yet been set. He is due in court on Friday morning.
