Part of Old Hwy 11 closed for bridge repairs

FORREST COUNTY, MS (WDAM) - Part of Old Hwy 11 is closed due to work on the Waterfall Creek bridge.

According to Robert Hinton, the project engineer for the road's construction, the bridge had to be updated to meet current regulations.

The ongoing project cost approximately $1 million and will be 80 percent federally funded; the rest will be covered by the state.

The completion date for the bridge is expected to be July 21, weather conditions pending, officials said.

Church Road is the current detour route.
