Viewpoint: Hurricane Season

It is June, and that means it is hurricane season again. And while the hurricane experts are weighing in and telling us what to expect in the way of storms this season in the Gulf, we in south Mississippi know that Mother Nature has a way of making up her own mind.

What we can do is be prepared and have a hurricane plan.

Do not wait until the last minute to discuss how you and your family will react if we are forecast to experience severe weather.

Do you have a plan for getting your family to safety? Do you have adequate wind and flood insurance for your property?

Keeping your family safe and informed is the number one priority of our weather team, so stay tuned to WDAM for the very latest on the tropics this season. With the appropriate planning, we can all have a safer hurricane season.
