Suspects sought in Friday armed robbery

Lamar County Sheriff’s Deputies are searching for two black males in connection with a Friday night armed robbery. The incident occurred shortly after 10 p.m. at the Exxon station at the Old Highway 11 and Old Highway 24 intersection.

A store clerk stated that the suspects entered the gas station, displayed a gun, and demanded money. The employee added she just put her hands up and backed away from the register. According to authorities the suspects left the scene on foot with an undisclosed amount of money.

Near the scene, officers recovered clothing in the middle of the road along Hickory Knoll, and stated that it matched the description given by the store employees and video that caught the incident.

The investigation is still ongoing and authorities urge anyone who may have any information regarding the crime to contact 601-794-8610.
