Being followed by the CIA? Follow them back

(RNN) - America's most mysterious agency is becoming a little more public. Much to the world's surprise, the CIA joined both Twitter and Facebook this week.

Their first tweet:

"We can neither confirm nor deny that this is our first tweet."

Yep, that's definitely the CIA.

The agency already has more than 92,000 followers and counting on Twitter, and within 20 minutes their first posting was retweeted almost 8,000 times. The account says it is currently only following 25 people ... that it wants you to know of.

But then again, do you really want to be followed by the CIA on Twitter? Probably not.

You have to give the men and women of "The Farm" credit though; maybe after all of the backlash and secrecy, this is a kinder, gentler agency of top secret spies.

So welcome to the world of social media CIA ... and way to start out with a bang.

They're behind me, aren't they.
