(RNN) - Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl left Afghanistan after being held captive by the Taliban for almost five years.

He was reportedly traded for five Taliban members being held in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. Since his return, controversy has surrounded how he was captured years ago.

General Motors CEO Mary Barra announced 15 employees were fired for incompetence stemming from a delayed recall involving faulty ignition switches.

The last of the World War II Navajo Code Talkers has died. Chester Nez was one of 29 credited with creating a Navajo-based spoken code to mask U.S. military communications during the war.

    The Lumberton Board of Aldermen voted to end the suspension of the police chief and fire the city clerk during a special-called meeting Thursday night.  On Monday, WDAM reported that the Lumberton Police Department said Chief Shane Flynt had submitted his resignation and that Phillip Ducksworth was serving as the interim police chief.
