    Four suspects were arrested Thursday during an attempt to commit a crime at the South Mississippi Correctional Institution. According to prison officials, officers responded to a fence alarm around 5 a.m., July 31, 2014, at the SMCI campus located in Leakesville, MS where officers found two packages. ELLISVILLE – Two more Jones County Junior College baseball players have made commitments to senior colleges.

Pitcher Cole Barlow has committed to Mississippi State University, while first baseman Jordan Stark is headed to the University of West Florida.

Barlow, who is from Madison Central High School, was named All-MACJC second-team this past season. He had an 0-0 record with 10 saves and a 3.77 earned run average for the MACJC champion Bobcats. The sidearm specialist pitched 14 1/3 innings, allowed five hits, walked eight and struck out 18.

Stark, who prepped at Northwest Rankin High School, was also an All-MACJC second-team selection. He owned a .324 batting average with two home runs and 39 RBIs. He also had a team-leading 19 doubles.

Five other Bobcats have already signed with senior colleges.

Catcher Tyler Graves and pitcher Westin Stringer have signed with Delta State University, second baseman Trent Giambrone and outfielder Alex Shermer have signed with Nicholls State University and third baseman Josh Pankratz is headed to Tennessee Tech.
