EASTABUCHIE, MS (WDAM) -

Congressional candidate Steven Palazzo stopped through the Pine Belt Tuesday to campaign in the Eastabuchie area.

The congressman stopped at Mak's restaurant and convenient store and shook hands with locals.

Both senate and congressional campaigns have gone hand in hand with negative social media posts. Palazzo spoke out on the negativity.

"Social media has brought us into a new era people from the comfort of their homes from an anonymous handle can lash out. Normally, if it was  a face to face conversation, they'd probably behave a little better," said Palazzo. "If there mother was around, they probably wouldn't talk like that so I always encourage people to maintain civility."

Palazzo also talked about his voting record and what he's accomplished in Washington D.C.
