COLUMBIA, MS (WDAM) - With just four days to go until the June 3 primary, Republican 4th Dist. Congressional candidate Tom Carter is busy meeting voters face to face.
Carter, 48, a businessman from Carriere, campaigned in Columbia Friday.
He said his business experience makes him the best choice for Congress. He also called the campaign the "insanity race."
"The insanity part of that is to do the same thing over and over and over and expect a different result," he said. "Well, we kicked Gene (Taylor) out four years ago, we put Steven (Palazzo) in and now people are talking about putting him back in because he's a Republican? I don't really care what his party affiliation is, I don't even care who voted for what. What I care about is this community," he said.
Carter faces incumbent Rep. Steven Palazzo, former longtime Democratic congressman Gene Taylor, Ron Vincent and Tavish Kelly in that Republican primary.
