Campaign event for Gene Taylor draws crowd in Hattiesburg

Dozens of Pine Belt residents attended a campaign event in Hattiesburg Wednesday night for congressional candidate Gene Taylor. The event was hosted by former Hattiesburg mayoral candidate Dave Ware. The event took place at The Walthall Center. 

Folks took the opportunity to meet Gene Taylor 6 days before the June 3 primaries. Taylor noted at the event that opponent Steven Palazzo voted with Nancy Pelosi to cut the defense budget by $490 billion. 

The State of Mississippi has open primaries.

    The Mississippi Military Department, the Nature Conservancy and several state and federal agencies have teamed up to boost the numbers of endangered gopher tortoises at Camp Shelby and the DeSoto National Forest.
