SYLVANIA TOWNSHIP, OH (Toledo News Now) -

Police say a driver fleeing the police is responsible for a one vehicle accident on Whiteford Rd. in Sylvania Twp. on Saturday afternoon.

The accident happened when the vehicle being chased struck a power line pole and a brick wall on Whiteford Rd. near Hunters Green Dr.

The chase started in Ottawa Hills on Central Ave. when police noticed the vehicle weaving. The vehicle was also missing a license plate.

From the condition of the car it appears the driver had to be extricated from the vehicle.

Police suspect that the driver was drunk.

The driver was taken to the hospital but there is no word on their condition.
