California-based Nest Labs recalls more than 400,000 smoke alarms. The recall is necessary because of a feature that could prevent the device from going off immediately, officials said.
Nest's Protect Smoke Plus Carbon Monoxide Alarms have a function that allows users to temporarily silence alerts – just by waving their arms near the unit. Nest is asking all users to connect their devices to the interview through a wireless network for an automatic update.
