HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

Several contestants who'll be taking part in the Miss Mississippi and the Miss Mississippi's Outstanding Teen pageants were in Hattiesburg Saturday to meet fans and sign autographs.

An autograph party at Turtle Creek Mall gave many pageant title-holders from South Mississippi a chance to meet supporters face-to-face and pose for photos.

It's the second year the Leaf Foundation and the mall have teamed up to host the event.

"It's really awesome, because we don't get to see each other that much, so it's always nice to have the support, because we really are like a family," said Dalee Kimble, Miss Leaf River Valley.

"This is such a great event for all of us contestants to get together before the big week in Vicksburg," said Ivey Swan, Miss New South.

"You get to meet a lot of girls that kind of share the same goals as you do and it's really fun to meet people that are a lot like you," said Mia Hall, Miss Hattiesburg.

The Miss Mississippi Pageant will be held in July in Vicksburg.
