Bugz and Bikes Poker Ride for MS

COLLINS, MS (WDAM) -

Motorcycle riders from around the area gathered at Mitchell Farms today to take part in the inaugural Bugz and Bikes Poker Ride to raise awareness about Multiple Sclerosis.

Participants took part in a 100 plus mile ride making several stops along the way, before ending back at Mitchell Farms for a crawfish boil and motorcycle contest. Riders participating in the event added that the fellowship and wonderful people you can meet while biking for a good cause is always a plus.

“Every dollar that goes towards the benefit of our organization, goes towards those programs and services ah a certain percentage, and it's a great thing because we are able to expand and enhance our services with more money raised,” said Kyle Pinion, MSAA Southeast Regional Director.

All proceeds from the event will be donated to the Multiple Sclerosis Association of America.

The Mississippi State Department of Health reported there are now 12 cases of West Nile Virus in our state Thursday morning. Although, every case is serious, that number pales in comparison, to the 247 cases in 2012. Still, you have to put a human face onto these figures to really know what this virus is capable of doing.
