Hattiesburg-area animal lovers, who also enjoy fine art and music, gathered Friday night to raise money for the Southern Pines Animal Shelter.

About 200 folks were expected to attend the 3rd annual, "Fur Ball" at The Venue.

The event is the largest fundraiser for the shelter, which takes in about 6,000 homeless pets each year.
