May meeting: Lamar Co. Board of Supervisors discuss hot button issues

The Lamar County Board of Supervisors discussed several future projects at Thursday morning's meeting. One of the biggest issues discussed is that a new driver's license facility could be built in the Oak Grove Area as early is July 1.

There is already a facility near the Industrial Park in Purvis, but it's open one day a week. Supervisors say the newest facility would be open five days a week and fully staffed.

The Board of Supervisors discussed potential venues for a license office, and they said they're considering buildings situated away from Highway 98, because they say that could be a dangerous area for new drivers.

The supervisors also discussed a plan to keep contractor's debris off Lamar County roads and properties.
