JONES COUNTY, MS (WDAM) -

A Jones County woman is behind bars in connection with a capital murder that happened Sunday night in Meridian.

Detective Dareall Thompson with the Meridian police department says 20-year-old Veronica Ferguson of Laurel is charged with accessory after the fact of capitol murder and armed robbery.

Also arrested, 36 year old Decarlos Clark who is charged with accessory after the fact of armed robbery and murder and 16 year old Shon Byrd who was charged with armed robbery and capital murder.

Authorities say 87 year old Billy Putnam was robbed and shot in the parking lot of Vowell's Market on North Hills Street in Meridian Sunday afternoon.

All suspects are expected to make their initial court appearance Thursday in Meridian.
