Columbia and Marion County to consider smoke free policy

COLUMBIA, MS (WDAM) -

Both the city and county have been visited by Mississippi Tobacco Free Coalition funded by the State Department of Health.

Representives offered officials the opportunity to apply for $5,000 grants toward second hand smoke education.

The grant doesn't require that the city or county pass a no smoking ordinance, but will allow the Tobacco Free Coalition to survey the area and interview citizens on what they think about a smoke free air policy.
