HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

The Coleman Company has issued a recall for a certain model of its Northstar brand liquid fuel lanterns because of a potential fire hazard.

The recall affects Northstar lantern model number 200B750 with date codes 10 13 or 11 13. The model number is printed on the base of the lantern under the lighting instructions. Date codes are stamped on the underside of the lantern.

An incorrect gas feed tube was installed on the lantern. When lit, the tube can release excess amounts of fuel. The company reported two known incidents of lanterns catching fire when fuel leaked from the bottom of the unit. No injuries were reported in either case.

The lanterns were sold at sporting goods stores and online between November and February. People who have items affected by the recall should immediately contact The Coleman Company for a replacement.
