HCLO adds fifth showing of Les Miserables to wrap up season

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

The Hattiesburg Civic Light Opera added a fifth showing of the famed musical Les Miserables to its 38th season with a performance on Monday night.

The show, scheduled to run May 8 through May 11, warranted so much success that HCLO was forced to add another show on May 12 because of the public's interest, according to Joe Vandzant, a cast member in the musical.

Vandzant said this has never happened before in the 38 years HCLO has been active.

The show, based on the Victor Hugo novel, tells the story of ex-convict Jean Valjean and his experience of redemption in 19th century France.

Tickets for Monday night's performance can be purchased at the Saenger Theater beginning at 6 p.m. or at the HCLO ticket hotline 601-583-5694. All tickets will be $20 general admission.
