BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) -

Officials with the Birmingham Police Department have released the name of the off-duty officer who was shot and killed last night. 

Officer Keary Hollis, a five-and-a-half year veteran of the police force, worked out of the west precinct. 

Lt. Sean Edwards says there is a person of interest in custody for questioning.
